Sound arts is a piano and music studio in Parksville, BC. The studio is bright and spacious with a separate entrance and ample parking. Private piano lessons and Music Pups, a small group class for ages birth to 4 are offered by teacher and pianist Andrea Wood.
Andrea Wood has been happy to call the Island home since 2013 when she settled in the Oceanside area with her young family. She completed her Bachelor of Music and postgraduate degree, a Diploma in Collaborative Piano at the University of British Columbia. After which she was on music staff at Vancouver Opera for 8 years performing in the mainstage shows and touring the province with Vancouver Opera in Schools. In 2008 Andrea spent several months in Melbourne, Australia where she was a repetiteur at Melbourne University and the Victorian College of the Arts. While living in the town of Stewart, Andrea co-founded the Stewart Arts Council, raising funds and awareness to bring performances of professional dance and music to rural northern BC. She has performed across the country including at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and has been heard numerous times on CBC Radio. More recently, Andrea can be heard performing at the Upper Island Music Festival, with the Village Voices of Qualicum Beach, at various recitals and performances around the Island with vocal and instrumental colleagues and at the Port Theatre with the Vancouver Island Symphony.
